New Mexico Land of Enchantment. Explored by Nuna De Guzman, 1528, Devca, 1536, Fray Marcos De Niza and Estevan 1539, and Coronado in 1540-42. Called New Mexico in 1539. Colonized by Onate in 1598. Santa Fe made royal capital by Spanish governor De Peralte, 1610. Under Spain until 1821, Mexico till 1846, made territory of New Mexico 1850, became a state January 6, 1912. Climate is dry and invigorating. Oil and natural gas are the largest industries. Among its many tourist attractions is the awe inspiring Carlsbad Caverns, Indian arts and crafts and culture can be seen throughout the state.

This plate measures approximately 10 inches and is a beautiful blue and white.
