Edwardian era top is a beautiful example of artistry and craftsmanship.
The bad news? Sadly the gossamer sheet silk on the cuffs, yoke, and collar, is shattering and can be literally brushed away.
The good news? The fabric underneath is in impeccable shape and renders the garment eminently wearable.
We have not cleaned this piece. But it harbors NO smell of must or mold and is a delight to behold.
This would be a lovely piece for study or patterning.
Its stays, linings and hooks are intact.
The jacket comes with a removable waistband and collar.
The color is tricky to read. Superficially it looks ecru but reads the very lightest shades of blue on the bodice fabric.
Between the pin tucked elbows and bodice and the beautifully wrought pearl & buillion embroidery, she is a thing of beauty!
