We believe this is a First Edition "Babar and Father Christmas" by Jean De Brunhoff, translated by Merle Haas to English. Note the unique inside publisher's page which states the Copyright, 1940 by Random House, Inc. but no other mention of other (re)printings. Very unique when compared to other books available.
As seen in the pictures the spine has some wear and splitting. There is also some clipping on the corners of the front and back cover. Two of the pages have small tears, but considering age is in very good condition.
Cover measures 11 1/4" x 8 1/4".
