"Sunny Day" was actually started on a rainy day where a deluge slowed down traffic at a show where I was exhibiting.
I used scraps from my suppies to get started on the whimsical stitching without a plan in mind.
The vintage curtain pull reminded me of a flower, then a sun, and then became a focal point.
The stitching is all hand done and incorporates everything from a rusty nail to recycled earrings.
Look close, what else do you see/
It's mounted on an antique handkerchief and then attached to a gallery wrapped box canvas.
The sides of the canvas are painted so you can hang or display it as is or frame it however you fancy.
The sturdy canvas is wide enough to stand on its own.
