Annie's smile is compelling, so compelling I had to try to paint her!
When you are a portrait painter, wide grins and teeth can be intimidating features to paint.
(Ask your artist friends!)
Annie's beach hair, sun hat and happy bathing suit are painted with acrylic and glazes, then collaged with antique papers.
She would be the perfect addition to any wall to remind you of a glorious day at the beach!
"Annie's Smile Is Infectious" was painted on a sturdy gallery wrapped canvas with painted edges so it can be hung unframed or framed as you desire.

This painting is one that was to be presented as part of the show "Neridas - Daughters of the Sea" for the month of May at Arts on Main in Gloucester , VA. COVID-19 had rendered that unsafe so I am presenting the collection to you here. I hope you enjoy it!
Happily Art on Main Gallery has offered me September as an alternative date and I am working on a different body of work for that show.

This name derives from the Ancient Greek “Niriis (Νηρηΐς) Niriides (Νηρηΐδες)”. The Nereids are sea nymphs (female spirits of sea waters), the fifty daughters of Nereus and Doris, sisters to Nerites. They were distinct from the mermaid-like Sirens. They often accompany Poseidon and can be friendly and helpful to sailors fighting perilous storms. This name is also linked to “Nereus”, from the Ancient Greek “neros (νηρος) Nereus / Niiréas (Νηρεύς / Νηρέας)”, meaning “water, liquid, aquatic”. Nereus was the eldest son of Pontus and Gaia a Titan who with Doris fathered the Nereids, with whom Nereus lived in the Aegean Sea. The largest Mediterranean underwater sea cave yet found, lying northwest of Sardinia, was named by the discoverers, the Nereo Cave, in honor of this mythological figure. Source: Name Doctor
